Toffee Pecan Dream Bars Recipe

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Make the Crust

In a large bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until a dough forms. Press evenly into the prepared dish.

Step 3: Bake the Crust

Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove and let cool slightly.

Step 4: Make the Topping

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, butter, honey, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth. Simmer, then add pecans; stir to coat.

Step 5: Assemble & Bake

Pour the toffee pecan mixture over the crust, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with toffee bits. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

Step 6: Cool & Cut

Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Cook’s Notes

  • Pecans: Halves or roughly chopped work well. Roughly chopped ensures even distribution.
  • Toffee Bits: Heath toffee bits are recommended, but you can chop up toffee bars.
  • Cooling: Let cool completely before cutting to allow the layers to set.
